What is swine flu?


Swine flu is the type of influenza fever which occurs due to infection caused by swine influenza virus (SIV) which is endemic( prevalent in or remains all time of year ) in pigs.
Swine flu is common in swine in the midwestern United States (and occasionally in other states), Mexico, Canada, South America, Europe (including the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Italy), Kenya, China, Japan, Taiwan, and other parts of eastern Asia.

What are symptoms of swine flu?

Symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of normal influenza which include

Fever high grade
fever with chill
Sore throat
Muscular pain ,bodyache
Headache
Coughing
General Weakness
General discomfort


How to prevent it?

It's transmission in human occurs due to coughing and sneezing and so people should face mask or clean handkercheif while they are infected and also they must keep themselves away from pigs or swine while using mask for farmers or person having direct contact with pigs.



Management :

In other pathies there is no specific treatment ,but in homoeopathy we can manage it you specific medicines which an help to prevent it as prophylactic and also curative treatment after the infection has already been there .




You can use following medicines based on the symptoms mentioned below

Allium cepa 30 /tds for 3-4 days :
common cold ,sneezing +++ ,watery discharge,acrid discharge from nose and watering of eyes,sore throat,fever high grade ( it generally lasts for 2-3 days inspite of taking any sort of medicines.

Euphrasia 30/tds for 3-4 days: Watering of eyes acrid discharge from eyes ,Sneezing++,No sore throat,Nasal discharge not prominent.


Hepar sulph 30/tds for 3-4 days: Discharge from nose is yellowish ,greenish thick ,Sneezing ++,Nasal Blockage,No throat pain ,Something stuffed up in throat sensation of,After exposure to cold air.


Tuberculinum 1M: 1 dose during acute episode acts as intercurrent remedy and hastens the cure




Allium cepa 200 /1 dose can be used as prophylactic in the epidemic and endemic areas for 10-15 days as once in a day dose.
